"How Beautiful"
How Beautiful
by Twila Paris
How Beautiful the hands that served
The Wine and the Bread and the sons of the earth
How beautiful the feet that walked
The long dusty roads and the hill to the cross
How Beautiful, how beautiful, how beautiful is the body of Christ
How Beautiful the heart that bled
That took all my sin and bore it instead
How beautiful the tender eyes
That choose to forgive and never despise
How beautiful, how beautiful, how beautiful is the body of Christ
And as He lay down His life
We offer this sacrifice
That we will live just as He died
Willing to pay the price
Willing to pay the price
How Beautiful the radiant bride
Who waits for her Groom with His light in her eyes
How Beautiful when humble hearts give
The fruit of pure lives so that others may live
How beautiful, how beautiful, how beautiful is the body of Christ
How beautiful the feet that bring
The sound of good news and the love of the King
How Beautiful the hands that serve
The wine and the bread and the sons of the Earth
How Beautiful, how beautiful, how beautiful is the body of Christ

This Song Makes Me Sad
I know it shouldn't, but it does. I know what it is talking about, but I can't help but think of fathers and sons, and fathers and daughters, and fathers...and sons...and daughters... And it makes me sad.

"Welcome Home (You)"
by
BRIAN LITTRELL
When I left home
to be who I am
Some people said
by
BRIAN LITTRELL
When I left home
to be who I am
Some people said
"No Way"
But I laid it all down,
gave everything
In my head rang the words
that my father said
You're never far
I will be where you are
and when you come to me
I will open my arms
Welcome Home, you
I know you by name
How do you do?
I shine because of you today
So come and sit down
Tell me how you are
I know son,
it's good just to see your face.
When I look at you
holding my heart
I will give to you
all that I have
Son I know there'll be times
You will feel all alone
I will share with you
the words my father said
You're never far
I will be where you are
and when you come to me
You can bet I will open my arms
Welcome Home, you
I know you by name
How do you do?
I shine because of you today
So come and sit down
Tell me how you are
I know son,
it's good just to see your face
Said I've been waiting for that day
Just to feel your warm embrace
Your love has shown
I will never be alone
You will welcome me home
I'll forever be
You will say to me
Welcome Home, you
I know you by name
How do you do?
I shine because of you today
So come and sit down
Tell me how you are
I know son,
it's good just to see your face
When I left home to be who I am

Spiritual ADHD
As I previously mentioned, it infringes on Copyright Laws to post an entire email devotional here, but I can post up to 100 words... So here are a few words from today's devotional, and the link so you can go read the rest, should you choose to do so.

Spiritual ADHD
by Marilyn Ehle
"God is at work within you, helping you want to obey Him, and then helping you do what He wants" (Philippians 2:13, Living Bible).
The medical profession describes [kids] with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder...as displaying some or most of the following symptoms: unable to stay focused ..., listen to and follow directions; distracted easily; often avoids, dislikes or doesn't want to do things that take a lot of mental effort for a long period of time; displays compulsive and disruptive behavior; lacks self-control.
****
But as I look at the long list of symptoms, I sadly reflect that many of those descriptions fit my walk with God. ... Fortunately, God has a diagnosis and a solution for my disorder.
****
He asks that I first acknowledge my wandering mind, lack of focus, need for self-control, and then take appropriate steps for healing... .
****
Well, that is about 15 words over my allowable limit. There is more to this devotional, and the link is at the top. It is very interesting. You should read it!

JESUS RESPONDS TO OUR INDIVIDUALITY
~by Suzanne Benner
"We don't have to be the same as someone else to be a follower of Jesus. Jesus knows who we are -- He made us that way!"
"Jesus knows your situation. He knows your heart. He responds to your need.
Instead of trying to change ourselves into someone whom we admire, we need to simply seek Jesus."
"Questions to Ponder and Discuss: Do you have an area in your life where you are trying to become someone else, rather than simply seeking God? How has Jesus met you at your point of need?"

ROOT OF CONFLICT
ROOT OF CONFLICT
by Gail Rodgers { http://tmdevotionals.com/women/authors/gail-rodgers/}
Conflict very often arises out of unmet need. Sometimes it's as simple as the unmet need for rest. Things can look different after a good sleep.
Yet often it is deeper. The need to feel valued and heard can result in conflict when we feel tossed aside or not listened to. In our busy lives we sometimes don't take the time to listen to one another even in our own homes. We call to one another through out the house or leave one another standing with half said sentences hanging in the air. Resentment stirs and conflict then erupts over the most trivial thing.
We have a need to feel accepted and respected. The casual sarcasm that exists between loved ones is often hurtful. The quick retorts become commonplace and even humorous to by standers yet they can simmer as a spark for conflict.
Look seriously at the conflicts in your life. Ask God to help you identify the unmet needs that may be at the root. When you feel tension arising that could lead to conflict... stop... and use the opportunity as a tool to build into your own life or pray into another's. Be honest and learn to GROW through conflict.
G -- Give God opportunity to reveal any unmet need that may be at the root of your conflict. Be open to seeing your own need and to praying for the needs of another. It will help dissolve hostility.
R -- Recognize that God is the only One who can meet all of your needs.
O- Open your heart to God for His help. Let Him be the Source you need to meet the empty place in your heart.
W - Walk with someone who will help you pray through the conflict areas in your life.
God promises to be the Source for all of your needs. Believe Him today.
"And my God will meet all your needs according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:19).
Prayer: Father God, please help me to look at my conflicts with new eyes and to allow You to work in and through me. In Jesus' name I pray, amen.
Questions to Ponder and Discuss: What are some of the obvious needs we all have? What does Scripture tell us about our needs? How do these needs relate to conflict in our relationships?

Honoring Your Wife...
I got this in my email this morning. I think it can be applied to every important realtionship... Your Husband, your Children, your Parents...etc.
Honoring Your Wife...
"Promise to tell your wife daily what you appreciate about her. Promise yourself, not her, because she might develop expectations and be hurt if you forget."
- From "It Takes Two to Tango" by Gary and Norma Smalley
Friday, 9 March/07
This was today's... I guess they covered Husbands afterall...
"As a wife, you and your marriage will experience less stress if you understand that men tend to be challenge-oriented and often lose interest once they've "conquered" or met the challenge. That's why they can be so romantic before marriage and afterward show little interest in romance."
- From "It Takes Two to Tango" by Gary and Norma Smalley

"My Jesus" by Todd Agnew
Which Jesus do you follow?
Which Jesus do you serve?
If Ephesians says to imitate Christ
Then why do you look so much like the world?
Cause my Jesus bled and died
He spent His time with thieves and liars
He loved the poor and accosted the arrogant
So which one do you want to be?
Blessed are the poor in spirit
Or do we pray to be blessed with the wealth of this land
Blessed are they that hunger and thirst for righteousness
Or do we ache for another taste of this world of shifting sand
Cause my Jesus bled and died for my sins
He spent His time with thieves and sluts and liars
He loved the poor and accosted the rich
So which one do you want to be?
Who is this that you follow
This picture of the American dream
If Jesus was here would you walk right by on the other side
or fall down and worship at His holy feet
Pretty blue eyes and curly brown hair and a clear complexion
Is how you see Him as He dies for Your sins
But the Word says He was battered and scarred
Or did you miss that part
Sometimes I doubt we'd recognize Him
Cause my Jesus bled and died
He spent His time with thieves and the least of these
He loved the poor and accosted the comfortable
So which one do you want to be?
Cause my Jesus would never be accepted in my church
The blood and dirt on His feet would stain the carpet
But He reaches for the hurting and despised the proud
I think He'd prefer Beale St. to the stained glass crowd
And I know that He can hear me if I cry out loud
I want to be like my Jesus!
I want to be like my Jesus!
Not a posterchild for American prosperity, but like my Jesus
You see I'm tired of living for success and popularity
I want to be like my Jesus
but I'm not sure what that means
to be like You Jesus
Cause You said to live like You,
love like You
but then You died for me
Can I be like You Jesus?
I want to be like my Jesus
What inspires you?

KEEPING OUT THE WEDGE
KEEPING OUT THE WEDGE
by Gail Rodgers (http://christianwomentoday.com/devotionsgail/)
One of the quickest ways to interrupt your relationship with God is to allow a wedge to come between you and someone else. It's a sure way that the enemy of your soul can cool your heart toward God and reduce your testimony of love to a watching world.
Psalm 15 is a beautiful guideline for those who want to keep their open line to God. Listen...
"LORD, who may dwell in your sanctuary? Who may live on your holy hill?
He whose walk is blameless (without rebellion)
and who does what is righteous,
who speaks the truth from his heart and has no slander on his tongue,
who does his neighbor no wrong
and casts no slur on his fellowman,
who despises a vile man but honors those who fear the LORD,
who keeps his oath even when it hurts,
who lends his money without interest
and does not accept a bribe against the innocent.
He who does these things will never be shaken." ~ Psalm 15
Prayer: Father God, May my heart be Yours today.
Keep my attitude free from rebellion
Help me to do what pleases You in my actions.
Keep my words truthful and loving.
Help my motives to be pure and my comments to be life-giving.
Help me not to tolerate evil and to honor those who lift up Your name.
May I be one who keeps my word, generous and trustworthy.
May my heart be steadfast and open to You every day in every way.
In Jesus' strong name I pray, amen.
Questions to Ponder and Discuss: Who can dwell in God's presence? When your faith is shaky how can this Scripture help identify a possible cause? Are you willing to let God look deeply in your heart and spur you on?
